The knoll above the town of Crested Butte

As I've mentioned before our trip to Crested Butte was filled with lots of fun stuff to see and do. But it was also a time for me to be still, and this knoll became my favorite place to pray and read. Papa gave me several things to think and pray about as I sat on the bench on top of this knoll. One of the things I realized was that I was just high enough above the city that I could view the entire town, but I was not so removed that I couldn't hear all the sounds of the city. I could hear the rushing of the river that ran along the bottom of the hill. I could also see the people very clearly as they walked the streets, worked in there yards and went about the chores of daily life. I heard the dogs bark and the laughter of children playing in the nearby park. I was high enough above the city to have a completely different perspective than those walking, working, and living at street level. I was in the town but not of the town. I was very aware of the passage that says were to be in the world but not of it. We are very aware of all that takes place in the lives of those around us but we live from a heavenly point of view. Ephesians 2:6 remind us that positionally we are seated with Him in the in the heavenly places. This is not just rhetoric that has no earthly application to my daily living. I believe it impacts life spiritually the same way my view from the knoll impacted my view of life in Crested Butte. Many things transition when I begin to view life from my heavenly vantage point, but probably the biggest change takes place in the removal of the weight and stress that comes with street level living. After all Isaiah 40:31 states that " those who wait for the Lord will gain new strength: they will mount up with wings like eagles, they will run and not get tired. They will walk and not become weary." That is a statement of freedom and its clearly a vantage point that effects the overall quality of my life. Lord let me see and live life not from a street level perspective but from my heavenly seat that you have seated me in. Bring greater revelation to my world from this heavenly perspective.
