My Eyes Are Dry
Words and Music by Keith Green
My Eyes are Dry, my faith is old.
My heart is hard, my prayers are cold,
And I know how I ought to be,
Alive to You and dead to me.
Oh what can be done, for an old heart like mine.
Soften it up, with oil and wine.
The oil is You, Your Spirit of love,
Please wash me anew, In the wine of your blood
My Eyes are Dry, my faith is old.
My heart is hard, my prayers are cold,
And I know how I ought to be,
Alive to You and dead to me.
It's early morning and I am reflecting on the message from yesterday
Our Father who art in Heaven Hallowed be thy name My Prayer for myself and those around me is that my heart would be stirred this week with a fresh Passion for the Holiness of God. Which means to me a renewed passion for personal holiness. The scripture does say be holy for I am holy, I know I cant make that happen all I can do is pray for it, and for me and you to be white hot with a passion for it. Lord stir in us, renew in us, a passion for you. Like Kieth Greens song suggests it is so easy to become hard hearted with cold prayers. Father in Heaven you who see all and know everything about me remove the dross from my life this weak that nothing would keep me from you.
God Bless
