The R's of salvation was the topic I spoke on this past Sunday in our morning worship service. Words like redemption, regeneration, reconciliation, and resurrection, all describe the specifics of salvation.
I also mentioned words like return to, renew, recover, reclaim, and restore. Although these words are not directly tied to the doctrine of salvation, they do remind us that God's intention is to restore, recover, reclaim, and renew all that was lost, broken, and destroyed, as a result of sin. God had every right to abandon mankind and start new with a new Adam and A new Eve, He choose not to. On the contrary He has and is systematically renewing, reclaiming, restoring, and returning us his fallen, broken, and sin full creation to His place of original intent. A place of wonderful, intimate fellowship with Himself.
Randy Alcorn says in his book "Heaven" "God is the ultimate salvage artist He loves to restore things to their original condition, and make them even better. God's purpose in our salvation is reflected in the hymn "Hallelujah What a savior":"ruined sinners to reclaim"
To quote a line out of and old 70's song "Do you know one who buys broken things? Hear him now as he cries and sings, I don't sell I buy broken things" thank God I have been bought by Him and he is in the process of restoring me. In Jesus name Amen.
Hope you have a great July 4Th
Pastor Mike
